What’s different for you the client?
There will be a mat & chair at the front door for you to leave your shoes when you enter the studio. If you do not want to leave your shoe’s in the hall, there will be an area just as you walk in that you can leave your coat and shoes.
When you enter, there will be a table greeting you with extra masks, gloves, hand sanitizer etc. I will ask that you use a shot of hand sanitizer as you enter the studio. If you don’t have a mask with you, one is provided to you.
Your temperature will be taken when you come into the studio. I will be using a Wollony Forehead Thermometer, a Digital Body Scan Fever Thermometer Gun with No Contact Fast Reader. If your temperature is higher than 99 degrees fahrenheit, we will be cancelling your appointment.
IF YOU FEEL SICK FOR ANY REASON ~ PLEASE RESCHEDULE YOUR APPOINTMENT!
There will be a basket for you to put your personal items into (wallet, Keys, purse etc) that will keep your items protected from cross contamination. A disposable sheet will protect your items from the surface and will create a more sterile environment for all.
There will be a 6-foot barrier at the desk so that you can still sit comfortably and we can discuss your treatment plan, or taking your time at check out. I will have additional hand sanitizer in this area incase you do need to touch additional surfaces; you can quickly sanitize before leaving.
I have enabled “No signature requirements” on credit card processing as well we will be receiving.
What has changed for Essential Balance:
I will be leaving more time in between clients to allow for the extra cleaning and sanitizing. This will also reduce the risk of clients passing in the building’s common areas. Should you arrive for an appointment early, and want to come to the studio more than 10-15 minutes early ~ please to make sure the studio is not currently occupied by another client.
I will also be reducing the number of clients I see per day. This will again limit my exposure, and my “behavior has a direct impact on your health”.
Because of some changes that have occurred over the last few months, I am forced to change my hours of availability to clients. This will only impact a few clients. To them, I will be reaching out directly and rescheduling their reoccurring appointment time.
I will be wearing a face mask. I will also be wearing a hair net. I have long hair and to secure it up and not have to worry about a hair falling into my face that needs to be brushed away is a benefit to me….and another line of precaution.
What you should know about disinfection process for Essential Balance.
Essential Balance has always been conscious and cautious about sanitation. But Covid-19 has brought us all to a state of cleaning, disinfecting, and creating clean barriers to a whole new level. I have taken recommendations from the CDC, the American Massage Therapy Association, and State guidelines to create a cleaning and disinfecting routine that will keep you as safe as possible from not only Covid-19, but any other transmittable germs or viruses.
All common surfaces (door knobs, chair arms, light switch’s) are disinfected between clients.
As before, a disposable face cradle cover protects you from common surface exchange when you are prone on the massage table. However, we have gone one step further and provided a disposal face cradle cover as well as a disposable face protector, there will be two protective surfaces keeping you safe.
All cleaning products are of high quality for disinfecting qualities Melaluca, or with an alcohol-based solution. They meet or exceeded the CDC’s recommendation for active ingredients for proper disinfection.
My hands are wash with antibacterial soap and water for more than 40 seconds. I use a scrub brush to make sure I get all surface area, as well as washing past the wrist and into the forearms. After washing my hands, no other surfaces are touch until I lay hands on you, my client.
Hot stones…..I know a lot of you enjoy the hot stones. NO Stones will be shared from client to client without being disinfected, scrubbed and heated past 160 degree’s Fahrenheit.
The Stone warmer will be cleaned and disinfected in between each use, as well as a disposable protective covering will be used in the stone cooker for an added layer protection.
ALL surfaces will be clean and disinfected between uses. All contact items (hand towels, sheets, etc) are one client per use. (I know that should go without saying…..but I feel like I just need to say it all right now). A Robust Cleaning/sanitation/disinfecting protocol and checklist have been put in place to provide consistency from the beginning of the day, between clients and through the end of the day.
